Generating a CSR code for a custom SSL certificate

In order to create a custom SSL certificate, you'll need a CSR code. This code will be used by the SSL provider to create/sign the certificate file. While it's recommended to fill out every field in the form, it's essential to complete the following sections:

  • Common name (domain name)
  • Email Address
  • Organization
  • City / Locality
  • State / County / Region
  • Country

Important:

If you're generating a wildcard certificate, input your domain name in the Common name field like this: *.domain.com.
