10Web Builder utilizes containers to structure page layouts. While this modern approach enhances design flexibility, some users may prefer the traditional sections-based layout due to familiarity or existing website structures. This guide outlines how to switch off the container feature for users who wish to work with sections instead.
How to deactivate containers
Deactivating the container feature allows users to revert to using sections for their website layout. As 10Web Builder is based on Elementor Page Builder, global settings for containers are to be accessed via Elementor tab of your site’s WordPress Admin dashboard. Follow these steps to deactivate containers:
- Navigate to your WordPress dashboard and go to Elementor > Settings > Features to find the experimental features tab.
- Scroll to locate the Container feature within the list.
- In the dropdown menu select Inactive.
- A confirmation prompt will appear; click Deactivate to confirm your choice.
- At the bottom of the page, click Save Changes to apply your settings.
Consequences of deactivating containers
If you deactivate flexbox containers on sites originally built with sections, there will be no impact on your site content.
For sites created with both sections and containers, content developed using containers won't display. However, reactivating containers will restore access to this content.
Note:
If you generate new content with sections and save the changes without activating Flexbox containers, any content created within containers earlier will be lost.
If your website uses solely containers or both sections and containers, and you deactivate and reactivate the Flexbox containers option without altering the content, your site's content should remain unchanged.
Restoring content after deactivating containers
If you've deactivated Flexbox containers but need to access content created with them again, reactivate Flexbox Containers them via Elementor > Settings > Features.
After doing that navigate to the page where the container content was created. Click on the 10Web Builder logo in the upper left corner and select History > Revisions.
Choose the page version that includes the container content you wish to access and click Apply.
Note:
Applying a previous revision will remove any content added after that revision. If you reactivate containers and apply a revision from a past date, any changes made between that date and the present will be lost.
