To claim a free custom domain from 10Web and point it to your hosted website you must have an active hosting subscription to be eligible for the free domain. If your account is still on a trial, this feature will not be available.
Important:
The free domain offer applies to domains costing up to $30. If the domain costs more, you will need to pay only the difference for the first year.
How to claim your free domain
Follow these steps to activate your free custom domain:
- Log in to your 10Web Dashboard and click on Get Free Custom Domain.
Note:
If your preferred domain is unavailable, 10Web’s domain registrar will suggest similar available options.
- Enter the domain name you want and search for its availability.
- Once you find a suitable domain, click Get It. You’ll be redirected to the Checkout Page.
- If you already have an active hosting plan, the total cost will show as $0. If you are still in the free trial, the cost of the hosting plan will be displayed.
- Review your Billing Information. Ensure all details are accurate and written in Latin characters, especially your email address, as this is where the domain verification email will be sent.
- Click Secure Checkout to finalize the process.
- Verify your domain using the link sent to your email. This step is crucial to activate the domain for use.
Once verified, your domain is ready to be pointed to your hosted website.
How to point your domain
First, ensure your domain’s status is active to confirm it has been verified.
Once the domain is active:
- Go to your website’s management environment and select the Domains tab.
- Click Add Domain → From Domains List and choose the domain you want to point to your 10Web-hosted website.
- When the domain status shows Pointed, set it as Primary and generate a free SSL certificate from 10Web.
Note:
Once the domain is set as Primary, an SSL certificate is automatically generated. If the site does not appear as secured, please manually generate the SSL certificate by navigating to Hosting Services → Tools → Generate Free SSL Certificate.
Once these configurations are complete, your website will load under the newly purchased domain.
Important:
Make sure all steps are followed carefully to avoid disruptions in your website’s functionality.
