In addition to the core services, 10Web platform serves as a domain registrar, allowing you to easily register and manage your domain names. The Domain portfolio section in your domain dashboard provides a comprehensive overview of all domains associated with your account, enabling you to efficiently manage and track your domain collection.
Accessing Domains portfolio
To begin managing your domains, follow these steps:
- Navigate to the Domains submenu under the My products menu located in the top bar of your dashboard.
- You will be redirected to the domain management interface, where two options will appear on the sidebar:
- Get a new domain
- Domains portfolio
- If you haven’t purchased a domain yet, selecting My products > Domains will take you to the Get a new domain section.
- If you have purchased a domain through 10Web, the same menu will direct you to your Domains portfolio page, where you can manage all your purchased domains.
Managing your Domains portfolio
The Domains portfolio section is where you can view all the domains you’ve purchased from 10Web. Each domain listed provides important details, and you can take actions directly from the list.
- Domain name: This section shows the domain name you’ve registered with 10Web.
- Linked to 10Web: This status indicates whether your domain is linked to a website hosted on 10Web. If your domain is connected, a green checkmark will appear. If not, the status will be blank.
- Domain status: This is the status of each domain which has several options:
- Active: Your domain is currently registered and active.
- Expired: If you haven’t renewed your domain, it will be marked as expired. You can renew it from the "Actions" menu if the domain is eligible for renewal.
- Not Verified: This status is shown when your domain is registered but hasn’t been verified through the required email confirmation. Clicking this status will prompt a message explaining the verification process.
- Pending: This indicates that your domain registration is still in progress.
- Expiration date: The expiration date shows when your domain will expire. If Auto-renewal is enabled, your domain will automatically renew before the expiration date to remain active. If auto-renewal is off, the domain will expire on the listed date and become inactive.
- Auto-renewal: The auto-renewal feature is a toggle that allows you to enable or disable automatic renewal directly from the list. When enabled, your domain will automatically renew before it expires, preventing any interruption in service.
- Renewal price: The renewal price is the amount you will be charged to renew your domain for the next billing cycle.
Managing your domain
By clicking on a domain from your Domains portfolio, you will be redirected to the domain's management interface. In this interface, you will find three tabs: Overview, DNS Management, and Nameservers.
Overview tab
In the Overview tab, you can manage all the information associated with your domain. This tab includes sections like:
- Renew: You can renew your domain and check renewal information in this section.
- Renewal Cost & Date: This section shows the renewal cost and renewal date for your domain, providing all the details you need for renewal.
- Auto-Renewal: You can enable or disable Auto-renewal by toggling the "Auto-renew" switch. If you enable this option, a confirmation popup will appear. The setting will only be applied after you confirm the changes.
- Linked Website: This section shows a link to any 10Web-hosted website connected to your domain. If no website is linked, you will see a message stating that the domain is not connected to any 10Web-hosted website.
Clicking on the website title will redirect you to the Domains section of your 10Web dashboard, where you can manage the domain settings for that specific website. - Domain Privacy: The Domain Privacy option lets you manage your public contact information associated with the domain. This helps protect your personal details from being publicly visible in domain WHOIS records.
- Contact Info: In the Contact Info section, you can update the contact details associated with your domain. This includes registrant, administrative, and technical contact information.
DNS tab
In the DNS tab, you can manage the DNS records for your selected domain. The DNS management page allows you to add, edit, or delete DNS records.
Note:
If you change the default 10Web nameservers to custom nameservers, you are switching your DNS provider. As a result, you will no longer be able to manage your DNS records from the 10Web dashboard. The DNS management page will still be available, but you will be notified that changes will not affect your website until your domain is using the custom nameservers.
Nameservers
In the Nameservers tab, you will see the nameservers currently associated with your domain. To change the nameservers:
- Click the Edit button.
- A popup will appear, allowing you to choose between:
- Custom nameservers
- Default nameservers
If you select Custom Nameservers, you can add as many nameservers as needed and save your changes.
