The 10Web Website Speed Optimization tool uses Google PageSpeed Insights (powered by Lighthouse) to analyze website performance. However, you might notice different results between the score shown in your 10Web Dashboard and the one you get directly from Google PageSpeed Insights.
This discrepancy is normal and can occur for several technical reasons, especially when dealing with caching, cookies, or outdated analysis results.
How to get accurate and consistent performance results
- 10Web Dashboard does not automatically reanalyze your website’s performance when you make changes to your site. If you’ve updated content, installed plugins, or modified design elements, make sure to manually recheck your PageSpeed score in the 10Web interface.
- Make sure your website is fully cached before running a speed test. If you test your site immediately after making changes, or while the cache is still being generated, the results may be inaccurate or lower than expected. You can confirm your site is cached by visiting it in an incognito window or using tools like GTmetrix or a private browser session to compare load times.
- Be aware that cookies can affect test results. Some websites set cookies dynamically based on user sessions, geolocation, or third-party scripts. If a PageSpeed test is run while cookies are present, it might slightly change how resources are loaded and measured. To check if cookies are present:
To check for cookies:
- Open your site in Chrome.
- Right-click and select Inspect to open Developer Tools.
- Go to the Network tab and reload the page.
- Click on the page link, open the Headers section, and scroll to Response headers.
- Look for a Set-Cookie section and review the listed data.
Why the results may vary
Differences in performance scores between 10Web and Google PageSpeed Insights often stem from:
- Outdated performance analysis
- Cache not fully generated
- Presence of cookies during the test
Important:
Always reanalyze your site after changes, confirm the site is cached, and test under clean conditions for the most reliable results.
