What is a Multisite Network?
Multisite is a network of sites in WordPress, with one network administrator within one WP installation sharing the same core files of that WP installation. The sites do not have their own directories on the server; however, the directories for media and database tables are separated.
How Does Multisite Network Work?
The multisite feature has been present since version 3.0 of WordPress. The administrator can activate this feature by adding a line of code in the wp_config.php file.
Within the multisite structure, the network sites may share themes and plugins. The network administrator has control over the core changes, which then may be applied to the rest of the network. For example, the network administrator is the one responsible for updating the new versions of WP, plugins, and themes to be shared with the rest of the network or not. How to Connect Your WP Multisite to the 10Web Dashboard
Connecting your Multisite to the 10Web Dashboard requires the same steps as connecting a single site. There are two ways you can do this. One is to search and install the 10Web Manager from the plugins section of your WP dashboard. The second is to upload the downloaded 10Web Manager to your WP.
Installing
Log into your WordPress Network Admin dashboard and go to:
- Plugins
- Add New
- Search For 10Web Manager
- Install > Activate
Once you have activated the plugin, it will appear in the left sidebar of your WP admin dashboard. Click on 10Web Manager and click the yellow Connect button to connect your multisite to the 10Web Dashboard.
Uploading
Log into your WordPress Network Admin dashboard and go to:
- Add New
- Upload Plugin
- Choose File or
- Drag and drop the zip file in the Choose File field
- Install > Activate
Once you have activated the plugin, it will appear in the left sidebar of your WP admin dashboard. Click on 10Web Manager and click the yellow Connect button to connect your multisite to the 10Web Dashboard.
