You can manage your website plugins right from the 10Web dashboard.
Use the dashboard to:
- See which plugins are active or inactive
- Check for available updates
- Schedule for automatic and safe plugin updates
- Install, upload, activate, deactivate, and delete plugins
To enhance the management of plugins and make it more user-friendly, the Plugins page in the 10Web dashboard is divided into several tabs. Each tab containing the plugins is arranged in a list. Each list will have the name of the plugin along with its logo, its current version, an Update button if an update is available, an extensions button if extensions are available, and three dots at the end of each row allowing for quick management of individual plugins.
All plugins
This tab contains a comprehensive list of all the plugins installed on your website, including both active and inactive ones.
Active plugins
This tab contains all the plugins that are currently active on your website. Click the three dots to Deactivate or Deactivate and Delete the plugin.
Inactive plugins
Here you will find the list of installed plugins that have not been activated or have been deactivated. Click the three dots to Activate or Delete the plugin.
Available Updates
Any plugin that has an available update will be listed in this tab. Click the three dots to perform an individual Update of a plugin or tick the checkbox for all of the plugins you wish to update and click Update.
Note:
You will see the updates available for free plugins only.
Scheduling
One major part of website security is to have all of your plugins up to date. You can schedule to automatically update your plugins in the 10Web dashboard by enabling the scheduling option.
History
Here you will find the records of your scheduled updates.
Managing plugins
There are several ways to manage your plugins, and the available actions depend on their current status and the tabs they are in.
To manage your website plugins:
- Log in to your 10Web account
- Click the website of which you want to manage the plugins
- In the left menu bar, click on Plugins
By default you will land on the Active plugins tab. You can amend plugins individually or in bulk.
- Tick the check mark box in front of a single plugin to: Activate, Deactivate, Deactivate & Delete, Update, or Delete the individual plugin
- Tick the check mark box in front of Plugins for bulk actions
Depending on the status of your plugin, you can click the three dots at the end of each plugin row to: Activate, Deactivate, Deactivate & Delete, Update, or Delete that plugin.
Installing plugins in the 10Web dashboard
There are a couple of ways you can install plugins in the 10Web dashboard. You can search and install your plugin either from the 10Web tab or the WP repository, or you can upload a plugin from your desktop or an external drive.
When you click the Add new plugins button you will see these four tabs.
10Web
The 10Web tab houses all the 10Web plugins offered. Here you can install any of the premium plugins in the list.
Upload
You can also upload a plugin from your computer and install it to your website.
WordPress repository
In the WordPress repository tab, you can search and install any free plugin that is in the WP repository. Once you find the plugin you are looking for, simply click the Install button in front of it.
Featured plugins
This tab will have the list of 10Web partner plugins. Click the Install button in front of it to install the plugin.
How to install a plugin
10Web offers a handful of perfected premium plugins for its platform users and over 50 regular and pro widgets for building your websites. The plugins are updated regularly. The 10Web plugins are housed in the 10Web tab. You can also search through the WordPress repository tab for non 10Web plugins.
To install plugins:
- Log in to your 10Web account
- Click on the website where you want to install the plugin
- Click on Plugins located on left sidebar
- To the top right of the page, click Add new plugins
You will be redirected to the 10Web tab by default. Find the plugin you want to install.
- Click Install Premium for 10Web plugins or Install for plugins in the WP repository
Note:
If you want to do a bulk install, tick the checkbox for the plugins you want to install and click the blue Install button.
How to upload a plugin in the 10Web dashboard
To upload and activate a plugin:
- Log in to your 10Web account
- Click on the website where you want to upload and install the plugin
- Click on Plugins located on the left sidebar
- At the top right corner, click Add new plugin
- Click on the Upload tab
- Click Choose File
- Select the file from your drive then click Open or
- Drag and drop the file into the square
Installation will initiate automatically. After the successful installation, you will be redirected to the Active plugins page. The new plugin will be added to the list.
