At 10Web, our goal is to ensure a secure, fast, and optimized platform for your WordPress website. We’ve identified certain types of plugins that cause issues with our platform, putting your security and speed at risk. Here's a categorized list of plugins we recommend that you avoid using on your sites:
Important:
We constantly update this list, but it’s not exhaustive. Other plugins not mentioned below may also cause issues or produce unexpected results when used on our platform.
Caching Plugins
Important:
Recommendations about caching plugins only apply to websites hosted on 10Web. If you're using the 10Web Booster on non-10Web hosting, we recommend keeping your current caching plugin on. When used on other hosting platforms, the 10Web Booster works with your caching solution to clear all caches automatically.
Our AI-powered platform includes a fast, efficient caching structure. Other caching plugins interfere with this, leading to slower site speeds. We recommend avoiding the following:
- Ezoic
- WP Super Cache
- WP Fastest Cache
- W3 Total Cache
- WP Rocket
- WP Rocket Footer JS
- NitroPack
Backup Plugins
Our platform has a built-in backup solution that runs automatic daily backups. You can also schedule backups as per your site's needs. The backups are always available for restoration, copy, and download. Other backup plugins can cause data duplication, leading to slower load times and potential security risks. We don’t recommend any plugins that use non-incremental backups because they don’t use disk space and server resources efficiently.
Important:
You can use these plugins to backup on a 3rd party storage service. Local backups are NOT Allowed with these plugins.
- WP DB Backup
- WP DB Manager
- All-in-One WP Migration
- Duplicator
- BackupWordPress
- VersionPress
- Updraft
- BackupGuard
- Backup and Restore WordPress
- WPvivid Backup and Migration
- BackupBuddy
- BackWPup
- Snapshot
- Snapshots
Image Optimization Plugins
Both our 10Web Booster and the Image Optimizer by 10Web auto-optimize images for quick page loads. Other image optimization plugins can negatively affect your site’s performance. Avoid using:
- Rocket Lazy Load
- Shortpixel AI
- Smush
Website Speed and Performance Plugins
Our AI-powered platform is designed for speed and includes the 10Web Booster for managing performance and speed optimization. As a result, plugins like these aren't necessary:
- Asset CleanUp
- Async JavaScript
- Autoptimize
- Fast Velocity Minify
- Flying Scripts
- Hummingbird
- PageSpeed Ninja
- Perfmatters
- Swift Performance
- Swift Performance Lite
- WP-Optimize
- WP Performance Score Booster
Search Engine Optimization Plugins
Important:
If you’re already using 10Web’s built-in SEO tools or SEO by 10Web, we recommend avoiding other SEO plugins. Using both can produce undesirable results or duplicate data.
Plugins Causing Server & MySQL Thrashing
These plugins make excessive queries, increase server load, and degrade website performance:
- Broken Link Checker
- MyReviewPlugin
- LinkMan
- Fuzzy SEO Booster
- WP PostViews
- Tweet Blender
Related Posts Plugins
These plugins are not optimized and can overload your database:
- Dynamic Related Posts
- SEO Auto Links & Related Posts
- Yet Another Related Posts Plugin
- Similar Posts
- Contextual Related Posts
- SEOPress
Types of Plugins that Duplicate Data
The WordPress editor does not save revisions by default. This is done in order to have better site performance. Using plugins that save Page and Post revisions will slow your site down.
- No Revisions
Security Plugins
10Web provides security services that enforce strong passwords and check for bad behavior. Therefore, these plugins aren't recommended:
- Force Strong Passwords
- Bad Behavior
Email Plugins
We discourage using plugins that send emails via WordPress' email function. These often get caught in spam filters and can slow your server down:
- WP Mailing List
Instead, we suggest using third-party email providers for email services
PhpMyAdmin plugins
Since 10Web provides phpMyAdmin access, these plugins, which may pose security risks, are not needed:
- WP phpMyAdmin
To access phpMyAdmin from your 10Web dashboard, click on Credentials and find the phpMyAdmin login credentials.
Other Plugins
These plugins may cause security issues and don't work properly on our platform:
- Hello Dolly!
- Sweet Captcha
- Digital Access Pass (DAP)
