This article provides a concise overview of the Tools section under the Hosting Services menu in your 10Web Dashboard. This section equips you with essential features to optimize your website for performance and security. You can find it by navigating to Hosting Services > Tools.
Website cache
Caching improves website speed and conserves resources by storing dynamic pages as static HTML. With the 10Web Cache tool, you can:
- Enable caching for your entire website.
- Set a specific duration for cache flushing (clearing).
- Clear the server-side cache entirely.
- Exclude specific pages from caching.
Object cache
Object Caching optimizes backend performance by storing database query results, reducing repeated requests for dynamic content. To enable it, toggle the Object Cache switch in the Tools menu.
SSL certificate
An SSL (Secure Socket Layer) encrypts data transfer between browsers and servers, ensuring secure connections. Websites hosted on 10Web automatically generate free SSL certificates via Let’s Encrypt.
Important:
Always ensure your SSL is active to protect your site and improve search engine rankings.
PHP version
PHP, the main scripting language for WordPress, powers dynamic and interactive websites. Using the latest PHP version enhances website speed and security. To change your PHP version:
- Go to the PHP Version section.
- Select the version you require.
Note:
Older PHP versions may compromise site performance and security.
Restart PHP
If you encounter PHP-related errors like a 502 Gateway Error or 504 Gateway Timeout, restarting PHP can help resolve these issues. Simply click the Restart PHP button in the Tools section.
Important:
Restarting PHP may temporarily disrupt active sessions. Perform this action during low-traffic periods.
Advanced settings
This section allows you to adjust PHP configuration limits to address performance issues or meet higher resource demands from specific plugins. You can modify:
- Execution Time: Extend if processes timeout frequently.
- Upload Limit: Increase to support larger file uploads.
- Max Post Size: Adjust for larger form submissions or uploads.
- Memory Limit: Raise to handle resource-intensive plugins or scripts.
Important:
Misconfigured settings can lead to site instability. Adjust only when necessary or consult support.
