The major aspects of maintaining fast loading and secure websites are how well your cache is working, an up to date SSL certificate, and the latest version of the PHP engine.
10Web Hosting tools
This toolbox is located in the 10Web dashboard under Hosting Services > Tools. This is where you can manage the major components that will produce fast and secure websites.
10Web Cache
Caching pages of websites loads your websites faster and saves resources. When 10Web Cache is enabled, the dynamic page is cached and stored as a static, pre-built HTML page which can be returned more quickly during a subsequent request.
The 10Web Cache tool allows you to enable caching for your entire website, set the hours after which the cache should be flushed(cleared), entirely clear the server side cache of your website, and exclude specific pages from caching.
SSL Certificate
An SSL or Secure Socket Layer is a standard security protocol which when enabled, encrypts the transfer of data between the browser and the server. All websites hosted at 10Web can automatically generate free SSL certificates using the Letsencrypt service.
PHP version
PHP is a server side scripting language used to create dynamic and interactive web pages and applications. PHP is also the main language of WordPress. PHP versions are always being improved and updated. The latest versions of PHP are usually faster and more secure. To have a faster loading website, we recommend using the latest version of the PHP engine available.
Restart PHP
You may need to restart your PHP if you have had PHP crashes or errors such as a 502 gateway error or a 504 gateway timeout error. We’ve made this process easy by having the button in the Tools section of your hosting services.
