The Dynamic Author Box widget allows you to display information about the author of a page or post. This includes their profile picture, name, biography, and links to their archive or website. This article will guide you through the process of adding and configuring the Author Box widget to enhance your website’s author profiles.
Adding Author Box widget
- While editing your page in 10Web Builder, locate the Author Box widget in the widget panel.
- Drag the widget from the panel and drop it onto your page canvas in the desired location.
- Configure Widget Settings according to your preferences by adjusting the options described further.
Content tab
- Source: Choose between Current Author (Dynamic) and Custom (Static) modes.
Current Author is a dynamic source that fetches info about the author of the page.
Custom allows to assign a specific author name or source to the widget.
If the style is set to Current Author, the following customization options are available:
- Profile Picture: Toggle to show or hide the profile picture.
- Display Name: Toggle to show or hide the author's name.
- HTML Tag: Set an HTML tag for the author's name.
- Link To: Click the drop-down menu to set a link for the author's name and picture. Choose between None, Website, or Posts archive pages.
- Biography: Toggle to show or hide the author's biography.
- Archive Button: Toggle to show or hide the button linking to your Post Archive page.
- Archive Text: Customize the archive button text.
- Layout: Set the alignment of the image relative to the text.
- Alignment: Set the alignment of the author’s box to the left, right, or center.
If the style is set to Custom, the following customization options are available:
- Profile Picture: Click the image box to insert an image. You can upload a new file or add one from the Media Library.
- Name: Type in the name of the author.
- HTML Tag: Set an HTML tag for the author's name.
- Link To: Click the drop-down menu to set a link for the author’s name and picture. Click the ⚙️ icon to set the link to either open in a new window or to Add nofollow to the link.
- Biography: Insert the biography of the author into the corresponding field.
- Archive Button: Set a custom link. Click on the gear icon to customize the link settings.
- Archive Text: Customize the archive button text.
- Layout: Set the alignment of the image relative to the text.
- Alignment: Set the alignment of the author’s box.
Style tab
Image
- Image Size: Set the size of the image.
- Gap: Set the distance between the text and the image.
- Border: Toggle to show or hide the image border. If the toggle is enabled, you can also set Border Color and Border Width.
Border Color: Customize the color of the border.
Border Width: Set the thickness of the border. - Border Radius: Set the roundness of border edges.
- Box Shadow: Set and customize the shadow of the image box.
Text
Use this section to customize settings for both Title and Biography:
- Color: Set a custom color for your Title and Biography.
- Typography: Customize typographical settings.
- Title Gap: Set the distance between the title and biography.
- Biography Gap: Set the distance between the button and the biography.
Button
- Text Color: Customize the color of the button text.
- Background Color: Customize the color of the button.
- Typography: Customize the typography settings of the button text.
- Border Width: Set the thickness of the button border.
- Border Radius: Set the roundness of the border edges.
- Padding: Adjust the padding of the button.
Note:
Under the Hover effect you can also set Animation type for the button.
Advanced tab
You can customize the widget further using the settings available in the Advanced tab. These options provide additional styling and functionality adjustments, allowing you to tailor the widget to better fit your design needs.
