Redirection of certain or specific URLs plays an important role in the search engine optimization of your websites. Here is how to keep your websites clear and readable for crawlers by using the redirect functionality in the 10Web SEO plugin.
How to add a redirect in SEO by 10Web
- Log into your 10Web account
- Click on the website you want to add a redirect to
- Go to the WP admin dashboard of that website
- Hover on SEO by 10Web
- Click on Redirects
- Click on Add New
Note:
There are two types of redirects. One is called a redirection and redirects from one URL to another URL. The other is called a client type error and redirects the URL to an error page specified by you.
Redirection
To redirect from one URL to another:
- Click on the Redirect or Client Error Types dropdown menu
- Choose the redirection type
- Enter the URL from which users will be redirected
- Customize how the URL should be read by using regex
- Specify query parameters
- Enter the URL to which users will be redirected
- Click save
Client error
To redirect a URL to an error page:
- Click on the Redirect or Client Error Types dropdown menu
- Choose the client error type
- Enter the URL from which users will be redirected to the error page
- Customize how the URL should be read by using regex
- Click save
