The 10Web Booster automatically optimizes the frontend of your websites by applying specific processes such as compression, lazy loading, image optimization, critical CSS generation and more. Because all websites are unique and use a variety of plugins and tools, sometimes the activation of the 10Web Booster may have a negative impact on your website. To have the 10Web Booster active on your website yet not impacting your live site, we have created the Test Mode.
What is the Test Mode
The Test Mode creates an isolated environment for testing your website with the 10Web Booster without affecting your live site. When the Test Mode is enabled, your live website will return to its original state, deactivating any optimization done by the booster and reversing any issues caused by the 10Web Booster. The 10Web Booster will become inactive on your live website while remaining active for testing and troubleshooting.
How to enable and use the Test Mode
To enable the test mode:
- Log in to your 10Web account
- Click on the website where you want to enable the test mode
- To the left of the dashboard under Website Booster click on Frontend > Settings tab
- In the Test Mode section, click the toggle
- Click on Enable to activate
Page cache will not work while the Test Mode is activated. Hence, to get a true reading of your webpage score, please run a speed test while test mode is disabled.
After activating the Test Mode, you can test the different modes of optimization to see what works best for your website.
To view the 10Web Booster optimized version of your webpage with your selected mode, you will need to add the following component after your website’s page URLs.
For example, if your homepage URL is yourdomian.com, then you will enter: yourdomain.com?twbooster=1 in order to see the optimized version of your homepage.
For the most accurate results when viewing the optimized version of your site, please view in incognito mode.
If none of the optimization modes work, please contact our customer care team via live chat.
To apply the changes made in Test Mode to your live website:
- Go to Frontend > Setting tab
- In the Test Mode section, click the toggle to deactivate it or
- Click on the Test Mode quick access toggle in the general tab
Deactivating the Test Mode will automatically activate the 10Web Booster on your live site and apply all changes to optimization settings you have made while in Test Mode.
