A DNS zone contains the DNS records for your domain, such as its IP address and other settings. When you exceed the allowed number of zones, "DNS Zone Limit Exceeded" error is triggered. Encountering this error can be frustrating, especially when you can't access the Manage DNS button in your dashboard. This error typically occurs when the number of DNS zones, which corresponds to the number of your websites plus one, has been surpassed.
Fixing DNS Zone Limit Exceeded error
Step 1: Delete unused DNS zones
- Go to your 10Web Dashboard.
- Click on Manage and open the Domains section.
- Look for any domains or DNS zones that you no longer need.
- Click on 3 dots and remove these unused zones to free up space for new domains.
Step 2: Point your domain using an A-record from another DNS provider
If you don’t want to delete any zones or need more than your current limit allows, you can use a different DNS provider. To do this, set up an A-record in the other provider’s DNS settings to point your domain to your desired IP address.
By either deleting unused zones or pointing your domain to an external DNS, you can easily resolve the "DNS Zone Limit Exceeded" error and manage your domains again.
