Due to the latest API updates by Instagram, there have been a handful of difficulties with hashtag feeds. First, it is necessary to switch your Instagram profile to a Business account. Additionally, it should be connected to a Facebook page to retrieve hashtag media. And to properly display Instagram hashtag media feed, users must login to Facebook through Instagram Feed plugin. This article will assist you in all of these steps.
Nonetheless, there still could be issues while signing in to Facebook. In addition, the following error may appear when viewing an Instagram hashtag feed:
There is no media in this feed.
These issues occur in case your Instagram account is connected to one Facebook page from Instagram app, but it is attached to a different Facebook page through Facebook. For adjusting this, you need to reclaim your facebook page.
To do that, please:
- Open your Instagram app using your smartphone.
- Go to your Instagram profile by tapping
.
- Tap
(iPhone) or
(Android) from the top-right.
- Scroll down to Business Information, then tap Reclaim Your Facebook Page.
- Log into your Facebook account to finish reclaiming your Page.
The tricky part here is that the Instagram and Facebook accounts might not be your own. In this case, please ask your client to Login to their Facebook account from Instagram Feed > Settings page.
Important! Graph API endpoint for the recent media of hashtags returns only public media published within the last 24 hours.
Also, note that you can query a maximum of 30 unique hashtags within a 7 day period. Please review the docs here.
