10Web's SEO plugin helps you improve your website's search engine optimization by analyzing page content, titles, descriptions, headings, images, and internal links. It identifies SEO and readability issues and recommends improvements for pages, blog posts, products, and categories.
You can optimize content using AI prompts or make changes manually in WordPress Admin. This guide explains how to optimize individual pages, review SEO scores, and fix issues across your website.
If you haven't configured your website's SEO settings yet, see How to Set Up and Manage SEO on Your Website With 10Web.
Note:
This SEO solution applies only to projects created with the 10Web AI Builder. Websites or apps created with other builders or themes are not supported.
Step 1. Access your website's SEO content
To manage SEO manually, open WordPress Admin using either method:
- From the 10Web dashboard, click the W icon on your website thumbnail.
- From the 10Web Editor, click the W icon next to the Publish/Save button.
Then navigate to SEO → Content.
This screen lists your website's pages, posts, categories, and tags, with their SEO status and optimization details.
For each item, you can review:
- Indexing: Whether search engines can index the content and whether the setting comes from the content type default.
- SEO: The overall SEO analysis result, such as Problems, Improve, or Good.
- Readability: How easy the content is to read.
- Title / description: Whether SEO metadata is configured and whether it comes from AI, a template, or a custom value.
- Keyphrase: Whether a focus keyphrase is assigned.
- Links in: How many internal links point to the content.
Use the Posts, Pages, Categories, and Tags filters to narrow the list. You can also search for content, apply bulk actions, or filter by content type.
Manage content directly from the SEO list
Hover over a content item's title to display its available actions:
- Quick Edit: Edit SEO metadata directly from the Content screen without opening the full page editor.
- Edit: Open the content in WordPress Admin for more detailed changes.
- View: Open the published page.
- Findings: Open the SEO issues associated with the content item.
For example, to update a page's SEO information:
- Navigate to SEO → Content.
- Hover over the page you want to optimize.
- Click Quick Edit.
- Update the available SEO fields.
- Save your changes.
Quick tip:
Use Quick Edit for simple metadata updates and Edit when you need to review content analysis, heading structure, or advanced SEO settings.
Step 2. Optimize SEO titles, descriptions, and keyphrases
SEO titles and meta descriptions help describe your pages in search results. A focus keyphrase identifies the main search term you want a page to target and is used by the plugin's SEO analysis.
Optimize metadata using AI
You can ask AI to generate or improve SEO metadata for one or multiple pages.
For example:
Optimize the SEO titles, meta descriptions, and focus keyphrases for my Home, About, and Services pages. Use relevant keywords, keep titles and descriptions within recommended lengths, and make each one unique.
For a specific page:
Improve the About page's SEO title and description using the focus keyphrase "Italian restaurant in Chicago." Keep the wording natural and relevant to the page.
AI generates proposed changes for your review before applying them.
Edit SEO metadata manually
To edit a page's SEO settings, you can access it in two ways:
- From WordPress Admin → Pages → All Pages, find the page and click Edit.
- From WordPress Admin → SEO → Content, find the page, hover over its title, and click Edit
- Scroll to the SEO panel below the page editor.
- Review the search preview and update:
- Meta title: The page title used in search results.
- Meta description: A summary of the page's content.
- Slug: The last part of the page URL.
- Focus keyphrase: The main keyword or phrase used for SEO analysis.
- Switch between Desktop and Mobile to review the search preview.
- Click Update to save your changes.
The plugin checks metadata lengths as you edit. Recommended ranges are:
- Meta title: 50–60 characters, or under 580 pixels.
- Meta description: 120–160 characters.
Important:
Changing the slug of a published page changes its URL. The SEO plugin automatically creates a redirect from the old URL to the new one to help prevent broken links.
Step 3. Check and improve SEO and readability scores
The plugin analyzes the content visitors actually see on your pages and identifies opportunities to improve SEO and readability.
Improve SEO using AI
Analyze my About page for SEO and readability issues. Improve keyword placement, shorten overly long sentences, and make the content easier to read while preserving its meaning and tone.
For a website-wide review:
Review the SEO and readability of all my website pages. Identify the most important issues and suggest improvements for each page.
Review SEO analysis manually
- Open WordPress Admin → Pages → All Pages or WordPress Admin → SEO → Content
- Select a page and click Edit.
- Scroll to the SEO panel.
- Expand Content analysis.
The plugin organizes its findings into:
- Problems: Issues that should be addressed.
- Improvements: Recommendations for better optimization.
- Good: Checks that the page already passes.
SEO analysis checks whether the focus keyphrase appears in important locations, including the meta title, description, URL, opening paragraph, subheadings, and image alt text.
It also checks metadata lengths, internal and external links, and images.
Each finding explains what needs improvement. Where available, click Show me to locate the relevant content.
If the plugin recommends a better URL slug, you can select Use this slug to apply the suggestion.
Review readability
In the same Content analysis section, review the Readability results.
The plugin checks:
- Reading ease: How easy the content is to understand.
- Sentence length: Whether too many sentences are overly long.
- Paragraph length: Whether paragraphs are too long.
- Subheadings: Whether long sections need additional headings.
Review the recommendations and update the relevant content. Use Show me, where available, to locate text that needs attention.
Note:
SEO analysis uses the rendered page content, not only the text visible in WordPress Admin. This means pages created with the 10Web Editor can be analyzed even when their content is managed outside the standard WordPress editor.
Improve your page's heading structure
A clear heading hierarchy helps organize your content and makes it easier for visitors and search engines to understand.
The plugin checks headings from H1 to H6 and identifies structural problems.
Improve headings using AI
Review the heading structure of my Services page. Make sure it has one H1, use H2 headings for main sections, and organize subsections with H3 headings. Fix skipped heading levels without changing the meaning of the content.
Check headings manually
- Open the page in WordPress Admin → Pages → All Pages → Edit or WordPress Admin → SEO → Content
- Select a page and click Edit.
- Scroll to the SEO panel.
- Expand Heading structure.
- Review the heading outline and reported issues.
- To change a heading level, select the appropriate level from its dropdown and click Change....
- Save your changes.
The plugin can identify missing or multiple H1 headings, skipped heading levels, empty headings, and duplicate headings.
Quick tip:
A typical page uses one H1 for its main title, H2 headings for main sections, and H3 headings for subsections. Use the heading outline to review the structure without searching through the entire page.
Step 4. Optimize images and internal links
Images and links are also included in the plugin's SEO analysis. Descriptive image alt text improves accessibility and helps search engines understand images. Internal links help visitors and search engines discover related pages.
Improve images and links using AI
Review my website's images and generate descriptive alt text for images that are missing it. Also identify pages with few internal links and suggest relevant connections between related pages.
For a specific page:
Review the Services page and add relevant internal links to my Contact and About pages where they fit naturally.
Check images and links manually
- Open the page and expand SEO → Content analysis.
- Review findings related to image alt text, internal links, and outbound links.
- Click Show me, where available, to locate the relevant content.
- Make the recommended changes and update the page.
To review incoming internal links:
- Navigate to SEO → Content.
- Find the page in the content list.
- Check the Links in column.
- Click the link count, when available, to see which pages link to it.
Note:
Internal link counts include links within page content. Links in navigation menus, headers, and footers are not counted. A page may therefore show zero incoming links even if it appears in your website's menu.
Step 5. Find and fix website-wide SEO issues
While content analysis checks individual pages, Site Health identifies SEO problems across your entire website.
You can review affected pages, prioritize problems, and apply available fixes.
Fix SEO issues using AI
Run an SEO health check for my website. Identify missing meta descriptions, heading issues, missing image alt text, and broken internal links. Fix the issues that can be safely resolved automatically and show me any remaining problems.
Review Site Health manually
- Navigate to WordPress Admin → SEO → Site Health.
- Review the summary cards:
- Errors: More serious SEO problems.
- Warnings: Issues that should be reviewed.
- Notices: Lower-priority improvements.
- Pages with no findings: Pages without detected issues.
- Dismissed: Findings you have chosen to ignore.
- Use the severity, check, and content type filters to narrow the results.
- Expand a finding to see the affected pages.
- Follow the recommended action or open the relevant page to make changes.
Each finding explains What is wrong and What to do.
For example, if a page has a short meta description, the plugin identifies the page and recommends adjusting its description.
Click Re-run site checks to refresh the report.
Understand common SEO findings
Site Health can identify:
- Metadata issues: Missing, duplicate, or incorrectly sized titles and descriptions.
- Heading issues: Missing or multiple H1 headings, skipped levels, or duplicate headings.
- Internal link issues: Broken links, links pointing to redirected URLs, and orphan pages.
- Indexing issues: Unexpected noindex settings, robots.txt blocks, canonical problems, and sitemap mismatches.
- Content and image issues: Missing alt text, thin content, and undersized sharing images.
- Structured data issues: Missing or invalid structured data fields.
- Product SEO issues: Missing product identifiers, invalid GTIN values, and products that have remained out of stock for a long time.
Apply available fixes
- Open SEO → Site Health.
- Expand the relevant finding.
- Review the affected pages and recommended actions.
- Make the required changes manually or use AI to generate the available fixes.
- Click Re-run site checks to check the results.
You can also click Check and fix everything safe at the top of the Site Health screen to run supported safe fixes.
Important:
Review proposed changes before applying bulk SEO fixes. Changes to indexing, headings, and redirects can affect how your website appears or is accessed. AI-generated changes require your approval before they are applied.
Dismiss findings that do not need fixing
Some SEO findings may be intentional. For example, a Contact page may have little text because it mainly contains a form.
To dismiss a finding:
- Navigate to SEO → Site Health.
- Find the affected page under the relevant check.
- Click Dismiss.
Dismissed findings are excluded from the main report. To review them, click View dismissed findings.
Note:
Dismissing a finding does not fix the underlying issue. It removes that finding from the active report. If the page changes and the same issue occurs again, the finding can reappear.
Step 6. Optimize SEO for products and categories
If you have an online store, the SEO plugin also helps optimize products and categories.
Product and category SEO follows the same principles as regular website pages, with additional fields and checks for online stores.
Optimize product SEO using AI
Optimize SEO for all products in my online store. Generate unique meta titles and descriptions based on each product's name, features, and category. Review product structured data, identify missing product information, and keep product pages indexable.
For categories:
Optimize my store's product categories. Create SEO-friendly titles and descriptions that explain the products in each category and include relevant search terms naturally.
Edit product SEO manually
- Navigate to WordPress Admin → Store → Products.
- Open the product you want to optimize.
- Scroll to Search engines.
- Review or update:
- Meta title: The product's title for search engines.
- Meta description: A description of the product for search results.
- Canonical URL: The preferred URL when the same product is available at another address.
- Click Update to save.
When the fields are left empty, the plugin uses the available product defaults.
Product structured data can also include brand, SKU, GTIN, MPN, price, availability, and variations.
Edit category SEO manually
- Navigate to WordPress Admin → Store → Categories.
- Open the category you want to optimize.
- Review its name, description, and category image.
- Configure its Meta title, Meta description, and Canonical URL.
- Click Update.
If you leave the meta title empty, the category name is used by default.
Manage SEO for unavailable products
- Out-of-stock products: Remain indexable, with availability reflected in structured data.
- Long-term out-of-stock products: Can appear in Site Health with a recommendation to restock or discontinue them.
- Discontinued products: Can be set to noindex or redirected to a replacement product or category.
- Deleted or unpublished products: Are removed from the sitemap, with an option to redirect the old URL to the product's category.
Quick tip:
Use SEO → Content to review SEO status across supported content types and SEO → Site Health to identify issues affecting multiple pages, products, or categories.
Step 7. Review your SEO improvements
After updating your website's content:
- Open SEO → Content to review SEO and readability results.
- Open SEO → Site Health and click Re-run site checks.
- Review remaining problems and apply additional improvements where needed.
SEO optimization is an ongoing process. Revisit these sections when adding new content, changing existing pages, or updating your online store.
