What is multisite
Multisite is a WordPress network where subsites share the same core files and database but have separate media folders and database tables. The network admin manages themes, plugins, and user permissions across all subsites from the WordPress admin.

Multisite in 10Web dashboard
You can create a multisite network in just a few clicks.
Important:
10Web does not offer migration of multisites. Multisite support is only available with 10Web’s AI Ultimate, AI Ecommerce Premium and Agency plans.
Before creating a new multisite WordPress installation, it’s important to consider the structure of your site’s URLs. There are two ways to set up a multisite: subdirectories or subdomains.
Subdirectory
By choosing Subdirectory during the multisite network installation, you will find each subsite at a URL like example.com/subsite-1 or example.com/subsite-2.
Subdomain
Large websites like WordPress.com or Google.com often organize content into subdomains. For example, each blog on WordPress.com has its own subdomain, resulting in URLs like example.wordpress.com. Likewise, Google uses this structure for products like drive.google.com or mail.google.com.
Creating a new WordPress multisite in 10Web
- From your 10Web dashboard, click the Create a website button on the page’s left side.
- Select Multisite
- Select Subdirectory or Subdomain
- Enter your Site title
- From the dropdown menu, select a location/data center
- Enter a subdomain. Your site will be accessible at this address by default
- Create WordPress admin credentials: Admin username and Password Username
- Click Create to complete your WordPress multisite installation
Note:
Since WordPress stores and shares files efficiently among subsites in a multisite network, there is no limit to the number of sites you can create. However, since plugins and media uploads take up more disk space, it’s important to choose a hosting plan that includes enough storage space for all the sites in your network.
