Before you begin
Before enabling Cloudflare CDN, please make sure you have the domain name and the IP address of your original server. This is the IP address belonging to your A record. If you have another CDN enabled on your website, please make sure to disable the old CDN before enabling Cloudflare CDN.
Important:
If you are using Cloudflare and would like to enable the Cloudflare Enterprise CDN offered with the 10Web Booster, please make sure to turn off the proxy for the website on which you want to enable the Cloudflare Enterprise.
Cloudflare Enterprise is available with 10Web Booster Pro plans. If you are using a free Booster plan, you will need to upgrade to Booster Pro in order to enable the Cloudflare Enterprise.
Enabling Cloudflare CDN
Important:
Your website must have an up to date SSL certificate in order to enable Cloudflare CDN. If it doesn’t you will be prompted to get one or update your existing certificate before activating the CDN.
To enable the Cloudflare Enterprise on your website:
- Log in to your 10Web account
- Click on the website where you want to enable the Cloudflare Enterprise
- Under Website Booster click on Cloudflare CDN
-
Click on Enable
Important:
Because your website is connected to 10Web, your domain IP will be detected. Please double check that the IP we have detected is your original server IP. If it is not, please enter the IP of your original server. In case you have entered a wrong IP, you can edit your IP address from the Settings tab of the Cloudflare CDN page.
-
Click Proceed or edit your IP then click Proceed
TXT and A records will automatically be generated. You will need to add these records to your DNS management system or where your nameservers are pointed in order to verify domain ownership and point your domain to Cloudflare to enable the Cloudflare Enterprise and CDN. At the top of the page you will see your IP address and a progress bar of connecting to the Cloudflare CDN. TXT records will be generated first.
-
Copy and paste the TXT record/s to where your nameservers are pointed and click Verify Domain. Be sure to add each of the TXT records generated in Step 5.
Note:
If your TXT records have not propagated yet, you will see a failed message. Please wait for your TXT records to propigate, then click Verify Domain again.
- Copy and paste the A records to where your nameservers are pointed and click Proceed. Some DNS providers only allow one A record. In that case, simply add one of the A records we provide.
- Delete previously existing A record of main domain for proper DNS propagation
- After adding the DNS records, click Done, I’ve Updated DNS
You will be redirected to the Cloudflare Enterprise Overview tab. Please keep in mind that any time DNS records are changed, it can take up to 24 hours for them to resolve.
Important:
In some cases you may not see the changes because of network cache. To make sure, please use another internet connection or flush the network cache.
You can use a third party tool such as dnschecker.org to see if they have resolved and the CDN activated. In the top right of the page, you will see a pending status of your DNS records. Click on the reload button to refresh. Once your DNS records have been resolved, you will see an active status in the Overview tab.
