10Web Dashboard is an all-in-one tool that simplifies managing and automating various functions of your websites when they are hosted at 10Web or connected via plugins like Speed Booster or the 10Web Manager.
Depending on your subscription plan and status of your sites (hosted/connected), you can perform actions such as:
- Updating your plugins, themes, WordPress, etc.
- Activating, deactivating, and deleting plugins and themes
- Enabling 10Web services
However, there may be times when certain actions fail, and you receive error messages within the dashboard. Here is a list of the main reasons for the actions in 10Web dashboard to fail.
- Website is in maintenance mode
- REST route is blocked
- Lost website connection
Below are steps to troubleshoot these issues:
Step 1: Check if the website is down or has a fatal error
There are several tools available to check if a site is down, such as Down for Everyone or Just Me. Just enter your URL to see the website's status. This way you can determine if the website is accessible through the internet.
Step 2: Check if the website is in maintenance mode
If your website is in maintenance mode - be it a default WordPress one or a plugin-induced one - dashboard functions may also be obstructed. Make sure to disable maintenance mode before proceeding with 10Web Dashboard steps again. You can find the complete maintenance mode troubleshooting article here.
In case your website is available through the internet and is not in maintenance mode, please, proceed with the below steps.
If website is not hosted at 10Web
For websites connected to the 10Web dashboard via Speed Booster or 10Web Manager, please try to disconnect the site and connect it again:
Note:
Before proceeding with the steps below, ensure you are using the latest version of the 10Web Booster or 10Web Manager plugin. If an update is available in the Plugins section of your WordPress dashboard, kindly update the plugin to the latest version.
Reconnecting a site via 10Web Manager
- Enter Wordpress admin dashboard of your connected site
- Navigate to 10Web Manager on the left menu
- Find the Disconnect from 10Web Manager button and click it
- Connect the site again from the same menu
If the connection is successful, you will be redirected to your 10Web dashboard.
Reconnecting a site via 10Web Booster
Important:
If you are using Cloudflare CDN, please make sure to revert the root domain A records back to origin server IP before disconnecting your site from 10Web dashboard, otherwise you can experience downtime.
- Enter Wordpress admin dashboard of your connected site
- Navigate to 10Web Speed Booster on the left menu
- Find the Disconnect button
- Connect the site again from the same menu
If the connection is successful, you will be redirected to your 10Web dashboard.
Important:
If you still can’t connect, then you may have issues with REST API or permissions.
If website is hosted at 10Web
If your website is hosted by 10Web, and certain actions are failing, follow these steps to troubleshoot the problem:
Step 1: Check for fatal errors
If your website is facing a critical error on any of the pages, you can find the source of the problem by checking the error logs. Here’s how to do that from your 10Web dashboard:
- Log in to your 10Web dashboard and select the website experiencing the error.
- Go to Hosting Services > Logs.
- In the drop-down menu, select PHP-FPM.LOG.
- Look for lines that start with PHP Fatal Error. These lines often contain the name of the plugin or theme causing the issue, with a file path like:
- wp-content/plugins/[plugin-name]
- wp-content/themes/[theme-name]
Once you've identified the faulty plugin or theme, you can proceed to deactivate it using SFTP.
Note:
If the error is due to a low memory limit, you may see a fatal error in the logs similar to: "Allowed memory size of X bytes exhausted (tried to allocate X bytes) in /path/to/script." To resolve this, you can increase the memory limit by navigating to Hosting Services > Tools > Advanced settings in your 10Web dashboard.
Step 2: Check domain pointing
If you are using a domain from a third-party registrar, ensure it is correctly pointed to your website. Use a DNS checker to verify that the A record of your root domain resolves to the correct IPv4 address, or check that your domain is using 10Web nameservers.
Important:
If your domain uses Cloudflare with proxies enabled, this may block domain pointing. Temporarily disable the proxy status for the root domain’s A record by setting it to "DNS only" for 5–10 minutes. Once the dashboard services work again, you can re-enable the proxies.
Step 3: Verify wordPress login token
If clicking the W icon in 10Web dashboard leads you to the standard WordPress login screen rather than your admin dashboard, there may be a connectivity issue. Contact 10Web's Customer Care for assistance.
Step 4: Disable security plugins
Security plugins installed on your site could be blocking the REST API, which is necessary for some hosting services. Try temporarily disabling these plugins to see if the issue is resolved.
Step 5: Contact support
If none of the above steps resolve the issue, feel free to contact 10Web support team for further assistance. We are available 24/7 to help.
