If you've purchased a domain through 10Web, linking it with your 10Web-hosted website is a simple process. This is all done within 10Web's unified hosting system, eliminating the need for manual DNS management.
Linking your domain
- Click the Manage button next to the site you want to link your domain to.
- Go to the Domains menu.
- Click on the Add Domain button.
You'll encounter three options to choose from:
- From Domain List: If you've previously purchased the domain from 10Web, you'll find it listed here. Simply select the domain you want to link and proceed.
- Get a New Domain: Use this option if you haven't bought the domain yet. Enter the desired domain name and complete the purchase process. You can read more details about it in the Domain Pricing and Renewal Models article.
- Already Have a Domain: This option isn't covered in this article as it pertains to domains purchased from third-party registrars. If this applies to you, refer to the article on how to point a third-party domain to a 10Web Hosted site.
Once you've added your 10Web domain to your hosted site, no further action is required for domain pointing, as everything is handled automatically.
Note:
You might need to wait a bit for the DNS records to be resolved. You can use DNS Checker to regularly check whether your domain records are resolved or not.
After the records are resolved, make the domain primary for your site to load under your domain name.
Note:
10Web offers free SSL for hosted websites. When pointing to your domain, the free SSL option is checked to be added by default. If after making the domain primary, you notice that the site is not secure, enter Hosting Services > Tools > SSL Certificate and Generate a free SSL certificate.
For integrating email hosting or other services with your domain, you may need to add DNS records, which can be easily done from the Domain > Manage DNS section. Refer to the DNS Records article for more accurate details.
